Evan Luke Poem

EVAN LUKE

Put yourself in our position, and think what you would do...
Smile for the memories, for that's what gets us through...

Taken at so young an age, but ready all the same...
To the fullest, loud and proud- that's just how you played the game...

Hold your mother with the breezes, and kiss her with the rain...
Amuse us with the lightening, oh how you liked to entertain...

Tell a joke and make us laugh when you see us drop a tear...
Though we cannot hold our Brother, we all know that you're still here...

Laugh with us when we relive old times, and mourn with us when we cry...
For when that blade sent you to Heaven, it forced us all to die...

Walk proud with your chest poked out, and know that you'll be missed...
We never knew what pain could do, ignorance is bliss...

Grip us with your memory, and help us carry on...
Though we cannot hear your laugh, the memories aren't gone...

Know that we still honor your name, and know we miss our boy...
For memory is one gift of God that death cannot destroy...

Keep a watch over us, Brother, wherever we may be...
Semper, Brother, Carry on- A.E.K.D.B.
